Chapman Taylor will be attending the UK RESI 2019 Convention, which takes place from 11-13 September in Wales.

UK Residential Directors Tom Klingholz and Michael Swiszczowski, Associate Director Jonathan Harris, Senior Architect Gerard Ellis and Project Architect Rebecca Ridge will be representing Chapman Taylor at the event, which will take place at Celtic Manor in Newport.

Michael will also be speaking at the event on Friday 13 September, presenting Chapman Taylor’s response to a Property Week design challenge which sought innovative mixed-use, residential-led solutions from the UK’s leading architects for an imaginary former shopping centre site.

Our design proposal draws on our trademarked Umbrellahaus® model to offer a co-living-led, mixed-use model for sustainable, intergenerational living. Using adaptable modular technology, Umbrellahaus offers a sustainable and affordable off-site housing model with the flexibility required for the building to evolve and adapt to its context and local infrastructure. Based on the principles of intergenerational communities, Umbrellahaus living modules are clustered around shared living spaces and connected amenity terraces to provide opportunities for interaction.

The annual RESI conference is one of the highlights of the residential property calendar, with leading figures from the property industry, politics and finance meeting to discuss the key issues relevant to the sector – including planning, future-proofing and investment as well as the role of modular construction and Build-to-Rent developments in helping address the UK’s chronic housing shortage.

Chapman Taylor is expanding its residential portfolio in the UK, with schemes including apartment towers, student accommodation and Build-to-Rent developments. We regularly publish Insight papers in which our residential experts draw upon their experience to address some of the major issues facing developers, designers, end-users and society generally. Chapman Taylor is also leading the way in innovative off-site design and construction methods.

If you would like to talk to one of our team at the event about their experience of, and insights into, the UK residential sector, they would be delighted to meet you.
