Enhancing a world’s leading luxury hotel
Designed to support guests in maintaining their health routines while immersed in luxury hospitality, the Fitness & Wellness Centre combines calm, contemporary interiors with state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength-training equipment. The spaces are carefully planned to accommodate all levels of fitness, from gentle wellness-focused activity to more performance-driven workouts, within an environment that feels restorative rather than purely functional.
Interior design supports a broader wellness journey
Functional training areas and dedicated activity zones allow flexibility for varied movement and personal training, while yoga and meditation sessions are accommodated within serene, thoughtfully designed spaces that encourage mindfulness and balance. Guests also enjoy access to tennis courts and swimming pool facilities during set hours, enabling a diverse range of active experiences throughout the day.
A wellness ecosystem
The interiors are fully integrated with the hotel’s wider wellness ecosystem, most notably The Oriental Spa, also designed by Chapman Taylor, an award-winning destination housed within a restored traditional Thai residence across the Chao Phraya River. Chapman Taylor’s approach ensures visual and experiential continuity between fitness, recovery and relaxation spaces, complemented by performance recovery elements such as steam rooms, saunas and hydrotherapy facilities that support physical restoration.
Hotel’s private shuttle boat reflected in the designs
A distinctive part of the wellness experience is the journey itself. Many facilities, including the spa and selected fitness amenities, are accessed via the hotel’s private shuttle boat, transforming movement across the river into a moment of calm transition and anticipation. This sense of ritual and escape is reflected in the interiors, where material choices, lighting and spatial flow are designed to slow the pace and heighten the sense of wellbeing.
