Two Chapman Taylor projects shortlisted for Mix Awards North 2025
Chapman Taylor is delighted to announce that two of its UK projects have been shortlisted for the Mix Awards North 2025, celebrating design excellence in the commercial interiors sector across the northern regions of the UK and Ireland.
Pepper Street, Chester – Conversion / Redesign / Repurpose category
Chapman Taylor’s adaptive reuse concept for the Pepper Street multistorey car park in the historic heart of Chester has been recognised in the “Conversion / Redesign / Repurpose” category. The visionary proposal transforms the redundant 1960s concrete structure into Rooftop Social Club, a dynamic new hub for leisure, culture and community.
The scheme features a multi-level rooftop destination crafted using recycled shipping containers and locally sourced timber, creating a sustainable and characterful environment. The flexible design includes cabanas, open seating terraces, pop-up event zones and space for live performances, encouraging social interaction while supporting Chester’s tourism and evening economy. Sustainability and circular design principles are central to the concept, breathing new life into an existing structure while reducing environmental impact.
3 Arlington Square, Bracknell – WHAT CATEGORY?
Also shortlisted is 3 Arlington Square in Bracknell, a workplace transformation that reinvents a conventional office building as a contemporary campus-style destination. Completed in 2025, the refurbishment delivers a refreshed reception experience and a vibrant communal business lounge to enhance collaboration and wellbeing for occupiers.
The redesign extends outdoors, introducing new amenities such as a landscaped courtyard, self-contained gym pod and padel court, strengthening the sense of community and connection within the wider Arlington Square business park. The project exemplifies Chapman Taylor’s approach to future-ready workplace environments that support occupant wellbeing, productivity and flexibility.

A careful material palette complements the existing buff brick façade, while bold patterns and dynamic forms contribute to a playful, engaging character that promotes activity and interaction. The transformation aligns with the internal courtyard concept at One Arlington Square, with amenities shared between the buildings to reinforce a connected, campus-style workplace that fosters community and wellbeing.
