Construction progressing well at PLAZA Grafinger Strasse in Munich

Construction at the PLAZA Grafinger Strasse development in Munich is now well advanced, and new images of the site, as well as the façade materials, have been made available.

The 40,000m² development will form the heart Munich’s new Werksviertel district, a large urban redevelopment project near the Ostbahnhof railway station. Former industrial land is being transformed into a modern and lively new neighbourhood.

PLAZA Grafinger Strasse, with its mixed offering of shops, offices, a hotel, a guest house, a sports medicine building, a gym and a rock climbing centre, will bring new life to the Werksviertel district. Retail occupies most of the ground floor, while separate buildings with various functions complete the block perimeter on the upper levels.

It is anticipated that this much-anticipated mixed-use development will open in 2019.

Leenete Tazhicherry (Associate Director (Düsseldorf))

Leenete studied at Newcastle University in the UK and at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, before beginning her career in the Residential sector in London, where she worked on Construction and Delivery projects. She joined Chapman Taylor’s Düsseldorf studio in 2015.

Leenete developed the Detailed Design for the façade at Plaza Grafinger Strasse in Munich, subsequently leading project teams on the new-build Salzach Forum shopping centre in Burghausen and the revitalisation of Krohnstieg Centre in Hamburg.

She has also been a key figure in rolling out revised CAD standards within the Düsseldorf studio and helping streamlining data structures.

Leenete hat an der Newcastle University in Großbritannien und an der RWTH Aachen in Deutschland studiert. Nachdem sie ihr Studium im Jahr 2005 bzw. 2007 erfolgreich abgeschlossen hatte, begann sie ihre Karriere in London, wo sie weitreichende Erfahrung im Bereich Wohnungsbau sammeln konnte. Sie leitete Entwurfsteams in der Ausführungsplanung, bevor sie 2015 zu Chapman Taylor in Düsseldorf kam.

Leenete entwickelte die Detailplanung für die Fassade des Plaza Grafinger Strasse in München und leitete danach Projektteams für den Neubau des Einkaufszentrums Salzach Forum in Burghausen und die Revitalisierung des Krohnstiegzentrums in Hamburg.

Sie hatte zudem eine Schlüsselrolle in der Entwicklung neuer CAD-Standards und der Rationalisierung der Datenstrukturen im Düsseldorfer Büro.

Seit 2018 ist sie Associate Director in unserem Düsseldorfer Büro.
