Reimagining Jabrayil

Chapman Taylor has developed a major masterplan for the reconstruction of Jabrayil, a city in southwestern Azerbaijan near the major transport corridor.

Rebuilding infrastructure, but also restoring civic identity

The masterplan introduces a wide range of civic, cultural and community uses designed to support long-term liveability and economic resilience. These include schools, a hospital, museums, a cultural venue, retail areas, a mosque, leisure facilities, parks and dedicated sports and recreation zones. Public spaces and landscape form a key part of the proposal, helping reconnect neighbourhoods and create an accessible and walkable urban environment.

A future-focused city

Our design approach combines contemporary urban planning principles with sensitivity to local identity, landscape and community needs, helping create a resilient and future-focused city for generations to come.

The project reflects our wider expertise in large-scale regeneration and masterplanning projects across the Karabakh region
