Chapman Taylor to present Trafford Wharf case study and co-host closing event at Property Week Rental Living Summit 2025

Chapman Taylor is delighted to announce that we will be speaking at the Property Week Rental Living Summit 2025, taking place from the 30th of September to the 1st of October in Manchester.

Trafford Wharf

Group Board Director, Michael Swiszczowski, will contribute to the Masterclass Medley sessions with a presentation entitled: Trafford Wharf: Designing a mixed-use, multi-tenure model for rental living.”

Michael will be joined at the summit by his Chapman Taylor colleagues from all three of our UK studios, who will be on hand to meet attendees and share insights across Build-to-Rent, co-living, single-family housing and student living.

Aligning with market evolution

With the UK residential market’s ongoing shift towards rental living, Property Week has repositioned its flagship event, moving away from RESi360 and BTR360 to launch this new Rental Living Summit. The conference reflects the growing dominance of Build-to-Rent, Single-Family Rental and co-living within the residential sector.

For Chapman Taylor, this evolution perfectly matches our areas of expertise. With a strong track record in designing across the full spectrum of rental living models, our involvement in the inaugural Rental Living Summit, hosted in Manchester, where Chapman Taylor has a studio, could not be better timed.

About the session

Trafford Wharf

The session will showcase Trafford Wharf, the first major project within the Trafford Wharfside masterplan, and how it has redefined expectations for rental living in Manchester.

Trafford Wharf is a £250m regeneration scheme that reimagines a disused brownfield site into a vibrant, multi-tenure rental community. The presentation will explore the design narrative behind this mixed-use model - combining Build-to-Rent, student living, education and public realm - and show how authentic responses to heritage, landscape and context can deliver long-lasting, sustainable communities.

Closing the summit at Kampus

Chapman Taylor is also proud to be co-hosting the official ‘Building Connections’ Closing Party of the Rental Living Summit, taking place on 1 October from 6–9pm at Kampus, Manchester.

Kampus

Delivered in collaboration with Native Communities, LOFT and GAA Living, the event will provide delegates with the opportunity to network in one of Manchester’s most vibrant new neighbourhoods.

Kampus, one of the pioneering developments Chapman Taylor had the privilege to work on, will also feature as one of the study tours on the first day of the conference. Kampus has become a landmark Build-to-Rent development, offering over 500 apartments alongside independent food, drink and leisure spaces. It has been celebrated for its innovative design and placemaking, making it a fitting location to round off the summit.
