Retail: Chapman Taylor to design Salzach Centre in Burghausen

Chapman Taylor has been appointed by HBB Hanseatische Betreuungs- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft to design the new Salzach Shopping Centre in Burghausen, Bavaria. The existing Salzach Centre, consisting of a group of buildings from the seventies, will be demolished and replaced by a new development with a total sales area of around 15,000 sqm on two floors and an underground car park with 400 spaces.

The new building will move closer to the adjacent main street und will serve as a distinctive landmark when approaching the city from the north.

Bright colours, high-quality materials and large voids connect the two malls. The central space is a multi-storey atrium with a shimmering roof in the form of a forest canopy.

Construction will begin mid-2017, the opening of the shopping center is planned for the end of 2018/ beginning of 2019.
