Chapman Taylor’s Bristol Studio holds its inaugural Summer Cruise

On 5^th September, Chapman Taylor’s Bristol studio held its inaugural summer cruise aboard The Matthew of Bristol. Joined by 30 clients and consultants, the team set sail from Prince’s Wharf for a two-hour scenic trip around the Bristol Floating Harbour.

The Matthew of Bristol is a replica of the 15^th century caravel sailed by John Cabot to Newfoundland in 1497. Built between 1994 and 1996, the reconstructed ship sailed across the Atlantic in 1997 to mark the 500^th anniversary of the historic voyage.

Whilst on board, Chapman Taylor’s team and guests enjoyed a traditional fish and chip dinner, private bar and views of Bristol from the water.

Bristol studio Director, Nick Thursby, commented: ‘The summer cruise was a great success and an excellent way to network with clients, consultants and friends of Chapman Taylor. We look forward to doing it again next year!’

Nick Thursby (BA (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA)

Nick joined Chapman Taylor’s London studio in 1999 and worked on the award-winning Princesshay, Exeter scheme before joining the UK concept design team.

He was jointly responsible for establishing Chapman Taylor’s Bristol studio in 2013 and as a UK Board Director is now responsible for the ongoing development and management of this part of the UK business. Nick also leads Chapman Taylor’s Sustainability Group responsible for researching best-practice environmental design initiatives and innovation.

He has 20 years’ experience spanning all project stages.

Jonathan Harris (BA (Hons) Dip Arch)

Jonathan Harris joined Chapman Taylor’s Bristol studio in 2016 as as an Associate Director.

He is a member of our Residential Team and responsible for leading a number of key mixed-use regeneration projects in the Bristol studio.

Previously based in London, Jonathan has design experience working across a number of sectors including residential, education and commercial offices.
