Chapman Taylor is delighted to announce that Director Johnny Jiang has been awarded this year’s “China Contemporary Outstanding Young & Middle-aged Architect” by Architectural Practice, the official journal of the Architectural Society of China.
As the flagship publication of China’s highest architectural academic institution, guided by an editorial board of academics and national master designers, this recognition represents one of the industry’s most prestigious honours, celebrating the country’s leading emerging architectural voices.
Johnny brings over 20 years of international experience across China and Germany, with a strong track record in delivering complex projects from concept through to completion. His work is defined by a commitment to sustainable, innovative design, carefully integrating global thinking with local cultural and social context.

Johnny brings over 20 years of international experience across China and Germany, with a strong track record in delivering complex projects from concept through to completion. His work is defined by a commitment to sustainable, innovative design, carefully integrating global thinking with local cultural and social context.
In addition to his professional role, Johnny is an active contributor to the wider architectural community. He serves on the Council of the Professional Committee for Architectural Renovation and Urban Renewal of the Architectural Society of China, and is a judge for the Bauhaus Award. He is also a guest tutor at Bauhaus University in Germany and a guest lecturer at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University.
Johnny’s portfolio includes major projects such as the ZEEKR Hangzhou Headquarters Tower, Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park in Shanghai, and Shandong Energy Group Jinan International Trade Industrial Park, alongside hospitality, commercial, and urban design schemes across China.
This latest accolade builds on a series of previous industry recognitions, reflecting Johnny’s design excellence, leadership, and strong sense of social responsibility.
