Bank Building completed on Shusha’s historic High Street

Another building along Shusha’s historic High Street, the Bank Building, has been delivered in line with our urban vision for the heritage-sensitive regeneration of the city.

Shusha High Street is a key element of the Shusha masterplan, the heart and driving force of the city. Like many historic high streets shaped over centuries by multiple architects, its richness comes from diversity.

Our greatest challenge was to recreate this layered character while designing and delivering all buildings simultaneously. To achieve this, we divided the scope among different architects, assigning each building to a separate designer. This approach resulted in an authentic and organic streetscape, one that feels neither artificial nor rushed.

All façades draw inspiration from the traditional architectural language of Shusha, complemented by elements of European classicism. Together, these influences introduce a refined urban edge while remaining sensitive to the city’s low-density historic context.

The Bank Building was designed by Chapman Taylor and subsequently developed and delivered by PMD Group LLC and Design Bureau Az.
