Ground-breaking ceremony marks the start of construction of Plot M0121 at Greenwich Peninsula

A major milestone was reached on 2nd of December 2025 at Greenwich Peninsula with the official ground-breaking ceremony for Plot M0121, a 30-storey residential tower designed by Chapman Taylor for developer Knight Dragon, with McAleer & Rushe appointed as the Main Contractor. Due for completion in 2028, the scheme is the next significant step in the continued evolution of one of London’s most ambitious regeneration districts.

Ground breaking ceremony 2nd of December 2025

Situated in a prominent riverside location, Plot M0121 will deliver 300 new homes to the heart of the Peninsula, benefitting from prime waterfront frontage, excellent connectivity to local amenities and transport links, landscaped terraces, high-quality internal amenity spaces, and an enhanced public realm.

The tower has been conceived in harmony with the wider masterplan and serves as a successive counterpart to the well-established Waterman building. Rising elegantly from an enhanced public realm, the 30-storey form signals a new residential landmark for the neighbourhood, with a strong seven-storey podium creating an active urban presence at street level. The podium’s outward-facing apartments maximise daylight and dual-aspect living, while its carefully composed volumes frame private landscaped gardens for residents above.

The architectural expression of the tower is defined by its refined verticality, articulated further through strategically positioned corner balconies and a tri-partite façade of floor-to-ceiling windows. A step-in design above the 22nd floor creates a distinctive, slender silhouette, culminating in a sculpted crown that encloses spectacular external terraces on levels 22 and 29, offering panoramic views across London and Canary Wharf. A rich suite of amenities will elevate the living experience, including a double-height entrance lobby, co-working spaces, a landscaped podium courtyard and exclusive roof terraces.

As construction begins, Plot M0121 is set to become a defining addition to the Greenwich Peninsula skyline, delivering exceptional homes, enhancing the public realm, and contributing to the area’s continued architectural transformation. The project stands as a testament to innovation, aspiration and Chapman Taylor’s commitment to designing best-in-class residential environments for London’s growing communities.

“Plot M0121 is an important addition to the evolving neighbourhood at Greenwich Peninsula, translating a strong design vision into a deliverable, high-quality residential scheme. This milestone marks the start of a building that responds carefully to its riverside context, supports long-term community life and reflects our commitment to sustainable, people-focused design. We’re proud to see construction now underway and to be working collaboratively with the client and project team to bring this next chapter of the Peninsula to life.” commented Michael Swiszczowski, Group Board Director, Chapman Taylor.
