Chapman Taylor wins two SEE Real Estate Awards
Chapman Taylor has been named ‘Architectural Firm of the Year’ at the 2024 EuropaProperty SEE Real Estate Awards, held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bucharest on April 17.
Chapman Taylor's office project U Center 2 in Bucharest, Romania, was also awarded ‘Office Project of the Year’ at the awards ceremony.
The SEE Real Estate Awards Gala & CEO Networking Forum is the only event of its kind covering the South Eastern European region. The event brings together the most active international and local developers, bankers, investors, lawyers and other CRE professionals operating in the region.
Chosen by members of EuropaProperty’s SEE Real Estate Awards Academy, this year’s winners were recognised for their continued market success and achievements in South-Eastern Europe. The awards ceremony is a key highlight in the property calendar for this region, celebrating its most accomplished companies, projects and professionals.
The U•Center 2 office building, boasting an impressive Gross Leasable Area (GLA) of 35,000m², reached completion in August 2023. This comes two years after the completion of the first phase of the U•Center project which was finalised in the third quarter of 2021.
LEED v4 Platinum certification was awarded in 2024 with a score of 88 to U•Center 2 following a detailed evaluation against eight key criteria, including; location and transportation links, project sustainability, water efficiency, energy and climate efficiency, materials and resources used, indoor environmental quality, innovation, and regional priority.
Chapman Taylor was the lead designer on U Center 2, involved from concept development through to tender and then monitoring the detailed designs and site construction works, to completion. Sustainability was a core consideration of the project from inception. The building delivers energy-efficient workspace with a strong focus on the wellbeing of the staff and visitors. The building is currently being assessed under the WELL Building system.
