Chapman Taylor to attend UKREiiF 2026 in Leeds

Chapman Taylor will be attending the UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum, taking place from 19–21 May 2026 at the Royal Armouries Museum and New Dock in Leeds city centre.

UKREiiF is one of the UK’s leading events for the built environment, bringing together developers, investors, local authorities, and industry professionals to explore opportunities, share insights, and shape the future of towns and cities across the UK.

Representing Chapman Taylor at this year’s forum will be a strong team including Group Board Director Michael Swiszczowski, alongside Directors Andrew Carroll, Mark Doughty, Daniel Morgans, and Nick Thursby. They will be joined by Associate Directors Loretta Collins, Alexander Esfahani, Jie Shen, Nikki Hoggarth, Gerard Ellis, and Jonathan Jones, as well as Senior Architect Megan Lees.

The team will be engaging in discussions around key industry themes, including regeneration, sustainable development, and the delivery of mixed-use and residential-led schemes that create long-term social and economic value.

Michael Swiszczowski (BA(Hons), MArch, ADPPA, ARB, RIBA)

Group Board Director, UK

Michael joined Chapman Taylor in 2016 to build the practice’s expertise in the residential sector. Appointed to the Group Board in 2025, he continues to play a leading role in shaping and expanding the practice’s residential and hospitality portfolios across the UK.

He has designed and delivered a wide range of award-winning projects, with a particular focus on Build-to-Rent, student accommodation, hotels, serviced apartments, and modular construction.

Michael is a regular speaker at residential and property conferences where he articulates Chapman Taylor’s design approach and skill sets, offering thought leadership on future living trends and sector evolution. He also serves as a Commissioner on the Radix Big Tent Housing Commission, a cross-party think tank that advises the UK Government on housing policy and contributes practical, evidence-based recommendations to address systemic challenges in housing delivery.

He was nominated for a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association for Rental Living (ARL) in recognition of his significant contributions to the Build-to-Rent sector. He also serves as a Special Design Advisor on the ARL Design Committee and is a RIBA-elected member of the Regional Council for RIBA North West.

Andrew Carroll

Director, UK

Since joining Chapman Taylor in 2002, Andy has led the design and delivery of major projects across a range of sectors including mixed-use, office, residential, hospitality, retail and leisure.

Andy is a core member of the Manchester Studio leadership team. As a UK Board Director, he oversees our workplace and design delivery services and contributes to defining and implementing our core values across the UK.

Loretta Collins (BA (Hons) DipArch MArch RIBA)

Associate Director, UK

Loretta joined Chapman Taylor in 2015 and works on the concept design stages of mixed-use, office, retail, urban regeneration, and asset enhancement projects both in the UK and Internationally.

Loretta is a key member of our Responsible Design Group’s knowledge expert team with a focus on Community and Social values. She is also an active member of Women in Property in the North West UK-branch where she regularly participates in events and study tours.

Loretta’s design experience crosses a variety of sectors including mixed-use town centre regeneration projects where her ability to use a variety of design-based and CAD software tools enables her to successfully manage and coordinate complex design projects.

Nick Thursby (BA (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA)

Director, UK

Nick joined Chapman Taylor’s London studio in 1999 and has over 20 years’ experience spanning all project stages. He has particular expertise in the concept design and masterplanning of schemes through to their detailed design, particularly on large-scale projects at the heart of many of the UK’s major cities.

Nick was jointly responsible for establishing Chapman Taylor’s Bristol studio in 2012 and, as a UK Board Director, he is responsible for the ongoing business development and management of this part of the UK business.

He believes it is crucial to the long-term success of Chapman Taylor to nurture and mentor the creativity and talent in our studios.

Nick joined Chapman Taylor’s London studio in 1999 and worked on the award-winning Princesshay, Exeter scheme before joining the UK concept design team.

He was jointly responsible for establishing Chapman Taylor’s Bristol studio in 2013 and as a UK Board Director is now responsible for the ongoing development and management of this part of the UK business. Nick also leads Chapman Taylor’s Sustainability Group responsible for researching best-practice environmental design initiatives and innovation.

He has 20 years’ experience spanning all project stages.

Gerard Ellis (BSc(Hons) MArch PG Cert (Part 3))

Associate Director, UK and Bristol

Since joining Chapman Taylor, Gerard has successfully led the Castle Park View scheme through the concept design and planning stages. He has particular expertise in early-stage concept and feasibility design, projects with heritage aspects and the planning stages on residential, office and mixed-use schemes. Gerard is a member of Chapman Taylor's in-house Residential, Office and Mixed-Use Sector Groups.

Jonathan Jones (BEng (Hons) MArch)

Associate Director, UK

Jonathan joined Chapman Taylor in Bristol in 2013 as one of the first Architectural Assistants in the Bristol studio. Since then, he has been involved in various projects and masterplans across the UK and internationally. He is currently overseeing schemes in the South West of England, with a particular focus on residential and mixed-use design. Jonathan was promoted to Associate Director in 2025.

Jonathan is particularly skilled in the concept design and feasibility stages of mixed-use proposals. His freehand drawings and concept designs have been extremely valuable in developing the studio’s capabilities.

Daniel Morgans (BA (Hons) DipArch RIBA)

Director, UK

Daniel joined Chapman Taylor in 2017 as an Associate Director and was promoted to Director in 2025.  He is a key member of our UK concept design team. A creative and innovative designer, he specialises in turning a client’s vision into a successful project.

Daniel has over 20 years’ experience as an architect in the UK and overseas, eight of these spent working in the luxury residential and hospitality sectors and on a number of sensitive urban and historical sites.

He also has experience in coordinating teams for large-scale mixed-use projects in the Middle East, Europe and CIS.

Nikki Hoggarth (BA(hons), MArch, RIBA, ARB)

Associate Director, UK

Nikki joined our London Studio as an Associate Director to help lead the design delivery team in November 2025. 

Nikki is an accomplished architect with extensive experience across all RIBA workstages. He has worked on listed building refurbishments as well as complex, large-scale new-build projects in urban settings, spanning museums, hotels, student living, mixed-use residential developments, offices, higher education institutions, and schools.

Mark Doughty (BA(Hons), BArch, ADPPA, ARB, RIBA)

Director, UK

Mark joined Chapman Taylor in 2006, becoming a Director in 2022. A key member of the Manchester studio’s management team, Mark has a leading role in the workplace sector across the UK business.

He has over 15 years of experience and has successfully completed a number of major award-winning projects working both in the UK and internationally.

Mark joined Chapman Taylor in 2006 becoming an Associate Director in 2016. A key member of the Manchester studio’s management team, Mark has a business development remit for the office workplace sector across the UK business.

He has over 10 years’ experience and has successfully completed a number of major award winning projects across a range of sectors.

He takes an active part in the BCO and completed last year’s Cycle Challenge riding from London to Amsterdam over four days with fifty members of the BCO.

Alexander Esfahani (Bsc(Hons), MArch, PGDip ARB)

Associate Director / Head of Sustainability, UK

Alexander joined Chapman Taylor’s Manchester studio in 2016 as part of the Feasibility team, predominantly focusing on the Residential and Mixed-Use sectors.

He has experience working on a wide range of projects at all work stages, with recent projects including Manchester Goods Yard which was successfully handed over in 2021.

Alexander is passionate about creative design and has been instrumental in developing our sustainability strategy and a number of R&D initiatives. As the global head of Chapman Taylor’s Responsible Design Steering Group, he promotes and coordinates environmental principles and best practice within the company.

Jie Shen (BEng, MArch, DipArch)

Associate Director, UK

Jie joined Chapman Taylor in 2019, becoming an Associate Director in 2022.

Jie has extensive experience of projects in the residential, workplace, cultural and hospitality sectors in the UK, China and the Middle East. Most recently he has gained more than seven years of experience on large-scale, residential/built-to-rent developments, particularly in London.

Jie is experienced in project management, client liaison and navigating the statutory/planning process. He is proficient in leading consultant/sub-contractor design teams and managing BIM/IM workflows to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Jie is also an active member of our Technical Group, promoting CPDs/training, regulatory updates and technical support across the UK business.
