Workplace: Chapman Taylor’s new workplace building ‘Tomorrow’ launches at MediacityUK

Our latest design at MediaCityUK, the Tomorrow building, has launched this week. Tomorrow is a mixed use office and hotel building, providing a creative and imaginative workplace for digital and creative businesses. The office space includes a co-working space at ground and mezzanine floor, with 6 levels of flexible office space above.

The building has achieved Breeam Excellent accreditation and complements the sustainable credentials of the Phase 1 development which was awarded the first ever Breeam Communities award for sustainable development.

The striking building design creates a landmark at the entrance to MediaCityUK, the curved façade is clad in brushed aluminium panels with flashes of colour and full height, openable windows to maximise natural daylight, ventilation and views out across the city.

The interiors use a range of natural materials, graphics and colour in an imaginative way to create an exciting and vibrant environment to attract digital and creative businesses. Energy efficient LED lighting is used throughout, with exposed services on the floor plates to create and industrial aesthetic.

The 112 bed hotel, designed for Premier Inn, has utilised a combination of traditional building and off-site manufacturing techniques to deliver a high quality hotel within the heart of MediaCityUK. The hotel is now open to the public.

MediacityUK is currently one of the most advanced IT and media communications locations in the UK, Tomorrow marks the start of the latest phase of building which will see the development double in size.

Chapman Taylor Director, Andrew Carroll commented: ‘This is a unique office building which combines sustainable design with a flexible, fun working environment that will allow businesses to develop for the future. It is an exemplar project for workplace design for Chapman Taylor and its launch will strengthen MediaCityUK’s place as one of the UK’s leading tech and media environments’,
