Women in Property tour highlights progress at Avon Street student scheme in Bristol

A group from Women in Property visited our Avon Street scheme in Bristol today, gaining first-hand insight into a major purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme currently under construction opposite the University of Bristol’s new Temple Quarter Campus.

The project, being delivered through a joint venture between PBSA specialist Host and Corebridge Real Estate Investors, is scheduled for completion in June 2026. Once finished, it will provide 447 student bedrooms across multiple buildings, contributing to the growing demand for high-quality student housing in the city.

Attendees were welcomed with refreshments before a project overview presentation led by contractor GMI Construction Group and Jonathan Harris of Chapman Taylor, the scheme’s architects. The session outlined the vision, design approach and construction progress, before guests were taken on a guided tour of the site.

Situated within Bristol Temple Quarter, one of the UK’s largest regeneration areas, the development is designed to reflect the locality’s industrial heritage while offering a modern, student-focused living environment. The buildings will range from eight to twelve storeys, alongside a two-storey amenity hub positioned on the harbourside.

The scheme’s architecture draws inspiration from nearby historic railway structures, creating a distinctive visual identity intended to serve as a landmark for passengers travelling through Temple Meads station.

Construction is progressing under GMI Construction Group, with the development on track to open in time for the 2026 academic year.
