Take a look at our recently completed MUVI cinemas

Chapman Taylor is designing and delivering state-of-the-art cinemas for the muvi Cinemas brand, the first Saudi-owned cinema chain.

The first muvi Cinema at Mall of Arabia opened to moviegoers in Jeddah in August 2019. It was one of the first cinema developments to be completed in Saudi Arabia since cinema laws were liberalised.

Since then we’ve designed and delivered (number?) complexes with a range of facilities including Xperience, ScreenX, Dolby Cinema and Samsung Onyx theatres. We’ve also helped to launch VIP offering luxury muvi Suites and a junior brand which includes a playground and slides.

By 2026, the target is to have 700 screens across 76 locations.

The theme for the brand is urban downtown: industrial, yet luxurious.

Materials include timber and exposed steelwork, brickwork and concrete floors. The muvi Suites area is designed for a sense of exclusivity with marble floors, bespoke wool carpets, timber panelling and custom-made works of art.

Images of classic on-screen icons are portrayed with local cultural touches to establish a series of playful focal points throughout the public spaces. Digital LED screens, dramatic lighting installations and street art complement the city warehouse feel, providing a strong visual identity for the development.
