Senior Architect Enran Zhang to moderate RIBA Architecture Festival Asia events in Shenzhen

Chapman Taylor is pleased to announce that Senior Architect Enran Zhang, based in our Shanghai studio, has been invited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) to play a key role at the RIBA Architecture Festival Asia (RAFA), taking place from 16 to 18 December 2025 at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center, China.

RAFA will be held alongside Hotel & Shop Plus Shenzhen and concurrently with the 3rd Connexion Shenzhen, forming a major cross-industry gathering delivered through a collaboration between IM Sinoexpo and RIBA. Driven by the rapid economic growth of the Greater Bay Area, Connexion Shenzhen has established itself as a pan-industrial trade platform spanning F&B, hospitality and commercial space, furniture, health and lifestyle sectors, with far-reaching influence across Southeast Asia. Together, these integrated events underline Shenzhen’s growing status as a global design capital and commercial innovation hub, offering a powerful convergence of ideas, technologies and industry leadership.

In her role as Honorary Treasurer of the RIBA China Chapter, Enran will moderate one of the RIBA Asia Pacific Awards live design review events, leading critical discussions around shortlisted projects from across the Asia-Pacific region.

In addition, Enran will curate the ‘She Is an Architect’ exhibition, first inaugurated in Shanghai in 2022 and now touring to RAFA in Shenzhen, and will also host the RIBA Women in Architecture – Architects’ Roundtable discussion event, facilitating dialogue around professional practice, leadership and representation.

These high-profile roles sit at the heart of the RIBA Asia programme and reflect Enran’s standing as a leading female architect in China, as well as Chapman Taylor’s continued commitment to international design discourse and professional leadership across the Asia-Pacific region.
