Retail and Leisure: Mall of Qatar wins Retail Leadership award at Asia Retail Congress 2016

With its innovative and inspiring architecture, easy accessibility, fascinating new live entertainment concept and signature restaurants the Mall of Qatar will open its doors in the third quarter of 2016.  It has already started creating ripples in the South Asian retail property market by winning the “Retail Leadership” Award in the real estate category at the Asia Retail Congress 2016 held recently in Mumbai, India, on the 19th of February.

Asia Retail Congress (ARC) is attended by 300 of the most influential retailers in India and South Asia, it recognises best practice in the retail industry across various categories including Fashion, Consumer Durables, Mobile & Telecom services, Food, Travel & Hospitality, Health, and Real Estate. The Congress is aimed at company CEOs and Presidents from leading international and national retailers, directors of international and national retailers, and directors of international brands.

The Mall of Qatar is spread over 5.4 million square feet and is expected to receive a footfall of 20 million customers annually.  The Mall includes 7,000 underground and surface car parking spaces, 500 shops including over 100 F&B restaurants and 19 screen Cineplex including a superior 3D IMAX screen, and a 5-star 200 bedroom luxury and fashion hotel operated by Curio, a Collection by Hilton.
