Mega Silk Way and Bestech-92 Market Place win 5* Asia-Pacific Property Awards

Mega Silk Way in Astana, Kazakhstan, has won a 5* 2019 Asia-Pacific Property Award for ‘Best Retail Architecture in Kazakhstan’, while Bestech-92 Marketplace in Gurugram, India has also won a 5* Award for ‘Best Mixed-use Architecture in India’.

The Asia-Pacific Property Awards, which take place in Bangkok on 14-15 May, cover over 45 different categories, celebrating the best developments in the region.

Mega Silk Way is a 60,000m² GLA retail and entertainment project which opened to much acclaim in March 2017. Built within the masterplan for EXPO 2017, the centre includes retail, restaurants, Kazakhstan’s first IMAX cinema, a 400-seat ice rink, children’s entertainment areas and an indoor rollercoaster.

Mega Silk Way is the major gateway to the EXPO site, which now functions as Kazakhstan’s World Trade Centre, and has acted as a legacy emblem since EXPO’s conclusion. The development is a beautiful public space which is enjoyed by an estimated two million people per month for its variety of attractions, and it has become a landmark symbol of local and national pride.

Bestech-92 Marketplace has been designed to provide a contemporary recreational, residential and commercial space in the fast-growing financial and industrial hub of Gurugram. A high-end retail experience, designed around three levels, can be found in the open street area. The retail spaces are located at the ground and first floors in a series of interlinked patio areas, while leisure options, including a cutting-edge cinema, can be found on the third floor.

Designed over 11 levels in the vernacular Indian architecture typical of the region, a studio apartment tower is ideally located above the retail centre. The rooftop food court area includes a pleasant, shaded bar area – ideal for enjoying a drink after a busy day of shopping. This landscaped space makes extensive use of lush green tropical plants and foliage, helping to provide a strong sense of privacy and seclusion for relaxing visitors

Congratulations to our Moscow and New Delhi studios, as well as to Astana Group and Bestech India, for these well-deserved awards.
