HUMA St. Augustin outlet concept completes

Chapman Taylor has completed the transformation of the top level of HUMA St. Augustin in Germany, delivering a new, distinctive outlet destination within the established Huma World shopping centre. Designed by Chapman Taylor’s Düsseldorf studio for Jost Hurler Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungs GmbH & Co. KG, the project forms part of a wider enhancement strategy to refresh the centre’s overall look and feel.

Located on the top level of the shopping centre, the new outlet has been created entirely in line with Chapman Taylor’s concept and is intentionally designed to stand apart from the rest of the building. The client selected an industrial-style aesthetic, which Chapman Taylor has carefully interpreted by reworking timber elements from the lower levels and combining them with dark steel, stone cladding and planted accents. Together, these materials create the sense of a self-contained destination with its own character, further reinforced by the use of luminous signage to heighten visibility and identity.

Spanning approximately 9,000 m² within the 40,000 m² GFA scheme, the outlet level introduces new gastronomy, seating, promotion and play areas, alongside an integrated food court, pop-up spaces and social “insta-points”. High-quality shopfronts, bold wayfinding and illuminated lettering guide visitors throughout the centre and from the car parks, while exterior façade upgrades draw attention to the new outlet offer.

With a curated mix of fashion, sportswear, footwear and lifestyle brands, HUMA Outlet strengthens the long-term appeal of a shopping centre that has attracted more than five million visitors annually for over four decades, delivering a contemporary retail and leisure experience designed to support its next chapter.
