Filip Pokorný to join retail transformation panel in Prague

On 1 October 2026, Filip Pokorný, Director of Chapman Taylor’s Prague studio, will join a panel discussion at the fifth annual conference of the Czech Association of Shopping Centres (AČNCR), RETAIL TO TRANSFORM?

Taking place at the National House of Vinohrady in Prague, the conference will bring together leading figures from the retail, commercial real estate and development sectors to discuss the forces reshaping shopping destinations and the future of retail.

At 4:40 pm, Filip will join Marc Blum of ECE for a discussion titled “A New Coat Is Not Enough: How Architecture, Revitalisation and Gastronomy Help Keep City Centres Alive.”

The session will explore how architecture and thoughtful regeneration can help established retail destinations respond to changing customer expectations, strengthen their identity and remain relevant in an increasingly competitive environment.

Drawing on Chapman Taylor’s extensive experience across the Central and Eastern European retail market, Filip will share insights from current and recently completed projects, considering how existing destinations can evolve through strategic interventions, improved public spaces, new uses, and enhanced customer experiences.

The discussion reflects Chapman Taylor’s longstanding approach to retail regeneration, looking beyond cosmetic refurbishment to consider how architecture, placemaking and a broader mix of uses can breathe new life into existing destinations and strengthen their relationship with the communities they serve.
