Construction update: Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Office Park
We are pleased to share that the curtain wall construction phase of the Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Office Park is now underway.
As one of the major development projects in Shandong Province, the scheme has been included in the provincial directory and listed as a key project for Jinan City, underlining its importance for regional economic growth. Once complete, the development will serve as a national hub for the innovative development of the energy industry, driving digital transformation and supporting the wider economic momentum of both Jinan and Shandong Province.
Chapman Taylor is proud to lead the architectural design of this landmark project, which covers an area of approximately 40,900m², with an above-ground construction area of 167,800m².
Located along Jing Shi Road, the masterplan features two 172.5m gateway twin towers and a series of supporting podium buildings, accommodating a wide range of uses including a conference centre, dispatch centre, sports centre, banquet hall, and exhibition centre. The architectural concept draws inspiration from the traditional Chinese "Pagoda," reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, to create a powerful corporate symbol and a distinctive gateway for the eastern part of Jinan’s CBD.
The project’s façade design combines glass and stone to achieve a dignified, elegant and modern character, while the podium incorporates multifunctional spaces such as a double-height banquet hall, sports facilities, a garden-style employee restaurant, and a full-height shared lobby.
Interior and landscape design draw heavily on traditional Chinese cultural concepts, weaving together the themes of “Li (礼), Zun (尊), He (和), and Rong (融)” with modern workplace and hospitality standards. The result is a dignified, human-centred environment that emphasises harmony between people, nature, and architecture.
Set beside Lotus Mountain, the landscape strategy integrates the natural surroundings into the scheme, with a focus on green, low-carbon design and a "mountain-water painting" concept. This approach blurs the boundaries between building and landscape, creating a healthy and inspiring setting for work, meetings, and hospitality.
At night, a sophisticated floodlighting strategy will express the company’s green energy ethos, with lighting sequences inspired by China’s 24 solar terms, offering a dynamic and symbolic visual presence on Jinan’s skyline.
As construction progresses, the International Trade Industrial Park will become a strategic platform for Shandong Energy Group, fostering industrial agglomeration, global energy trade, and financial innovation, while attracting leading multinational companies and large enterprises in the energy sector.
