Construction Begins on Veyseloglu Headquarters Building and Supermarket in Baku

Construction has officially started on the new Veyseloglu Headquarters Building and Supermarket in Baku, Azerbaijan, marking a significant milestone for one of the country’s leading food manufacturing and retail groups.

Designed by Chapman Taylor, the 16,000m² mixed-use development will consolidate Veyseloglu Group’s corporate teams, which are currently spread across multiple locations throughout the city, into a single purpose-built headquarters designed to support collaboration, operational efficiency and future growth.

The development comprises ten office floors positioned above a retail podium incorporating an Araz Supermarket store, one of the group’s flagship retail brands. Conceived as a contemporary and flexible workplace, the building provides a diverse range of working environments for employees and visitors, alongside shared amenities designed to encourage interaction, wellbeing and connectivity across the organisation. A dedicated wellness floor will provide facilities focused on employee health, comfort and recreation.

The architectural design draws inspiration from the materiality and urban character of Icherisheher, Baku’s historic old city. Earth-toned façade materials reference the textures and colours of the traditional urban fabric, while solar-shading screens incorporate intricate geometric patterns inspired by the craftsmanship and ornamental detailing found throughout the historic centre. Together, these elements create a contemporary headquarters building that is both forward-looking and deeply connected to the cultural identity of Baku.
