Chapman Taylor to host neurodiversity CPD event with Women in Property North West

Chapman Taylor will host a neurodiversity-focused event on Tuesday 10 February (9.00am–11.30am) in our Studio at Bass Warehouse, Manchester, for Women in Property North West. This engaging and insightful CPD-accredited discussion will focus on supporting working parents of neurodivergent children.

The session will explore the unique challenges faced by parents and carers, and the practical steps employers can take to foster more inclusive, understanding workplaces.

Led by a working professional who is also a parent of a neurodivergent child with additional health conditions, the event will combine real-life experience with practical strategies and interactive discussion. Attendees will be encouraged to share insights and ideas throughout the session.

Key topics will include the rising prevalence of neurodivergent diagnoses in children; late-life diagnoses among parents; carer rights and workplace legislation including the Care Act 2014, Equality Act 2010 and Autism Act 2009; and the barriers faced by working parents balancing employment, caring responsibilities and appointments. The session will also explore what positive workplace culture looks like, navigating SEN and Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs), and practical tools that parents and employers can implement immediately.

Hosted by Chapman Taylor's Catalina Ionita, the event aims to equip attendees with valuable insights into carer responsibilities and empower organisations to create workplaces that genuinely support working parents of neurodivergent children.

Breakfast and refreshments will be provided, and members and non-members of all genders are welcome to attend.
