Chapman Taylor-designed Muvi Cinema takes shape at Westfield Riyadh

Chapman Taylor has designed a new 16-screen Muvi Cinema at Westfield Riyadh, bringing together premium cinema experiences and immersive entertainment technologies at the new retail and leisure destination in Saudi Arabia.

Currently under construction and scheduled to open in December 2026, the cinema has been designed to offer a diverse range of viewing experiences, from large-format and immersive auditoria to premium VIP environments.

The new cinema will include IMAX and Ultra 4DX experiences, alongside VIP Suite cinemas and a dedicated VIP lounge, creating a comprehensive entertainment destination designed around different audiences and occasions.

An immersive cinema experience

A key feature of the cinema will be its immersive 4DX and ScreenX technology, designed to extend the experience beyond the traditional cinema screen.

4DX combines on-screen action with high-tech motion seating and synchronised environmental effects, including wind, water, fog, snow and scent. ScreenX further expands the visual experience by projecting imagery beyond the main screen and onto the side walls of the auditorium, creating a panoramic environment that surrounds the audience.

Together, these technologies create a highly immersive and interactive experience, placing cinemagoers at the heart of the action.

The VIP offering provides a different type of experience, with dedicated VIP Suite auditoria and a VIP lounge designed to combine cinema with enhanced comfort and hospitality.
