A new urban neighbourhood within a larger city
Local mixed-use amenities and public realm
Chapman Taylor’s Düsseldorf studio created a concept design which aimed to provide a new urban heart for a district of Munich.
The mixed-use design creates a neighbourhood core which provides the area with residential apartments and a strong range of amenities while creating a sense of connection to nature.
Facade design
A large new market hall provides a focal point to the scheme, with vibrant alleys of diverse stalls complemented by public squares surrounded by shops and restaurants.
The varied architectural massing and façade designs visually breaks up the built environment to create a human-scale urban district.
The concept serves to create the conditions a sustainable, dynamic and interesting neighbourhood centre in which it is a pleasure to live, work, shop and relax.
