Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 Receives Special Mention in Architizer A+ Awards

Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6, a workplace-led, mixed-use development in Shanghai, has been awarded a Special Mention in the Unbuilt Commercial category at the prestigious Architizer A+ Awards. The Architizer A+Awards is the largest awards program focused on promoting and celebrating the year's best architecture and spaces.

With entries received from over 90 countries, the Special Mention distinction is awarded to work entered that exhibits remarkable design merit. This recognition is an outstanding accomplishment for the team behind Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6. Out of the thousands of projects that were submitted, less than 5% were chosen as Special Mention.

The winning design fosters an innovative ecological community of co-governance and sharing, encouraging scientific and technological talents to gather. The park ascends from west to east, forming eight key spaces: Zhangjiang Eye, Tianmu Street, Pandora Garden, Liuyun Terrace, Variety Atrium, Xingchen Square, Roof Paradise and Time Passage.

The architectural design strives for simplicity and unity, with the interior actively responding to the public platform space and having a more organic character. The exterior façade is simple yet atmospheric, with the concave and convex treatment visually lifting the building volume and connecting different functional blocks in series, creating a simple, elegant form. The façade of the building is very futuristic, employing texture changes of glass and aluminum plates to great effect.

Nature is integrated within all areas of the design, including green rooftops on the architecturally sleek and contemporary buildings, each of which allows abundant natural light to all areas. The outdoor terrace promotes harmony with surrounding nature; an urban ecological forest.

The Architizer A+ Awards mission is to nurture the appreciation of meaningful architecture in the world and champion those designers that are integral to bringing great buildings to life. The Awards bring Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 to a global audience of 400+ million.

This award-winning design is a testament to the team's dedication to creating a sustainable, innovative, and elegant solution for Shanghai's urban landscape. The project is currently under construction.
