Studio profile: Our Prague team's ongoing projects

Chapman Taylor’s Prague studio is continuing to work on projects across the CEE region, having switched to remote working on 16th March in response to the current emergency measures to combat the spread of COVID-19.

Among the studio’s ongoing schemes is the landmark Flow Building in Prague’s Wenceslas Square, which will provide 15,000m2 GLA of offices and 6,000m2 GLA of retail – construction is continuing at an advanced stage on site, with distancing measures in place for workers. Site meetings are taking place online, with limited physical visits for quality control. Full PPE is used on site and in all public areas face masks are mandatory in the Czech Republic.

Also on site is the 78,400m2 GBA J8 office park in Bucharest. We are currently developing the detailed interior design for the common areas and conducting document reviews online. Design and site meetings are being held online. Phase one of Forte Groups 45,000m2 GBA U Centre is also under construction, with document reviews and site meetings taking place online.

We are working on the design development for two more Bucharest office developments and the concept design stage for a 38,000m2 GBA office project in Budapest.

The Ameside major mixed-use project in the Czech city of Pilsen is in the early planning stages and in Prague we have a 6,000m2 GBA food court fit-out on site. Again where possible all meetings are taking place online.

Many other projects are in process and the team is fully occupied. Among these projects we are working on a competition for a retail project in the Baltics, a major retail refurbishment in Prague, 2 office fit-outs in Prague, a luxury F&B concept for a new residential development and the detailed design stage for the interiors of a listed Chateau.

In the coming weeks, the health of our colleagues, partners and the wider community will be our paramount concern, with our strategy under constant review. We will remain open and ready to provide advice and design services to existing and new clients throughout these challenging times.
