Showcasing six of our recent interior design projects around the world

Chapman Taylor’s interior design teams are creating distinctive spaces around the world, combining creativity, functionality and a strong understanding of place to deliver memorable experiences for the people who use them. From luxury hospitality and wellness to entertainment and leisure, our work responds to the individual character, culture and commercial ambitions of each project.

Here, we showcase six recent projects spanning Prague, Bangkok, Hamburg, Leeds and the Seychelles, demonstrating the breadth of our international interiors expertise. From the sensitive restoration of historic interiors and the transformation of existing destinations to bold new hospitality concepts, each project reflects a considered approach to materiality, atmosphere, experience and identity.

Chapman Taylor designed the interiors for the Fitness & Wellness facilities at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, creating a calm, contemporary environment dedicated to physical vitality, recovery, and holistic wellbeing. The facilities combine state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength-training equipment with functional training and activity zones, alongside spaces for yoga and meditation, creating a flexible wellness environment that supports everything from gentle exercise to performance-focused training.

The interiors form part of the hotel’s wider wellness experience and complement The Oriental Spa, also designed by Chapman Taylor, together with steam rooms, saunas and hydrotherapy facilities. Material choices, lighting and spatial flow create a sense of calm and continuity between fitness, recovery and relaxation, while respecting the heritage and luxury character of one of Bangkok’s most celebrated hotels.

Where contemporary wellness meets timeless luxury

The Kinopolis HafenCity Cinema at Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier is a flagship two-storey multiplex within the new 419,000 m² mixed-use district in Hamburg’s HafenCity. Operated by Kinopolis, the 17,700 m² cinema comprises 10 auditoria with a total of 2,150 seats. Chapman Taylor in Düsseldorf was responsible for the cinema's interior design and construction planning, as well as construction planning for the façades of the two buildings.

Inspired by Hamburg’s maritime character, the interiors draw on water, seafaring materials and the industrial language of the surrounding port environment. Exposed concrete, timber and metal are combined with expressive lighting, wave-shaped ceiling elements and individual auditorium entrances inspired by the colours and forms of the underwater world. The result is a dynamic and welcoming cinema environment that balances a strong sense of place with functionality, clarity and intuitive wayfinding. The project was named Best New Build Cinema at the ICTA EMEA Awards 2025–2026, recognising its innovative design, technical quality and contribution to the contemporary cinema experience.

W Hotel Prague is a landmark hospitality restoration that transforms the historic Grand Hotel Evropa on Wenceslas Square into a contemporary luxury lifestyle destination. Chapman Taylor’s Prague studio led the sensitive renovation and restoration of the protected heritage interiors, working closely with Czech heritage authorities to preserve original Art Nouveau features, including stucco detailing, mosaic flooring, decorative lighting and ornamental elements. Reopened in March 2025, the hotel combines the character of the original 1905 building with the distinctive contemporary identity of the W Hotels brand.

The completed hotel features 161 guestrooms and suites, alongside restaurants, bars, wellness facilities, and social spaces, including the W Lounge, Above Rooftop Bar, Grand Café ‘Le Petit Beefbar’, Minus One cocktail bar, and AWAY Spa. Inspired by Prague’s associations with alchemy and craftsmanship, the interior narrative incorporates Bohemian glass, brass, mosaics, botanical motifs and bespoke interventions, including a four-metre-high crystal chandelier. The project won Hotel & Leisure Development of the Year at the 2025 CEEQA Awards, recognising the successful integration of heritage conservation and contemporary hospitality design.

Bar.Yard

Bar.Yard is a rooftop destination on the 40th floor of Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, transformed by Chapman Taylor with a bold new interior identity. The 205m² refurbishment introduces a refreshed spatial layout designed to improve flexibility, comfort and atmosphere, allowing the venue to transition seamlessly from intimate social occasions to energetic evenings while responding to Bangkok’s vibrant nightlife and tropical climate.

The design celebrates Thai culture through a vivid palette and expressive motifs, including the Hornbill, Bird of Paradise, Serpent and Sun, creating a distinctive visual identity rooted in its location. Carefully considered lighting, furniture and spatial zoning balance theatrical energy with comfort and performance, re-establishing Bar.Yard as an immersive rooftop experience and a defining social destination on Bangkok’s skyline.

Napoleons Casino Leeds

Napoleons Casino Leeds is an 814m² interior refurbishment designed by Chapman Taylor for A&S Leisure, reimagining the traditional casino experience through a combination of classic elegance and contemporary luxury. Inspired by Leeds’ historic cinematic heritage, the design encompasses the gaming rooms, bar, restaurant, private dining room and common areas, creating a sophisticated destination for gaming, dining and socialising.

The internal layout was remodelled to improve customer flow, strengthen connections between spaces and open up views across the venue. Warm natural tones, atmospheric lighting and bespoke booth seating establish a relaxed restaurant environment, while a curved brass-fronted cocktail bar provides a focal point overlooking the main gaming floor. Traditional and modern finishes, bespoke detailing and carefully considered lighting bring warmth and character to the interiors, creating a contemporary interpretation of casino glamour.

Luxury resort in the Seychelles

Chapman Taylor’s interior design vision for a new luxury resort in the Seychelles is conceived as an immersive hospitality destination celebrating the islands’ natural beauty, cultural heritage and distinctive way of life. Centred on the concept of a ‘360° Kaleidoscope of Creole Living’, the resort brings together a five-star hotel, branded villas, marina-led residences, wellness facilities, a beach club and an ecological centre, each with its own character while contributing to a cohesive destination experience.

Inspired by the changing colours, textures, landscapes and cultural influences of the Seychelles, the interiors interpret Creole identity through natural materials, locally inspired colours and crafted details. Strong connections between interior and exterior spaces frame views of the ocean, beach and tropical landscape, while distinct wellness, marina, beach and ecological environments create a varied experience rooted in its setting and shaped by the relationship between nature, culture and contemporary luxury.

Across hospitality, wellness, leisure and entertainment, or workplaces, our design approach combines creativity with commercial understanding and a strong response to context. Whether transforming an existing destination or creating an entirely new experience, we design interiors that are distinctive, functional, sustainable and rooted in the character of their place.
