Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Office Park wins a 2026 CVU China Award of Excellence

Chapman Taylor’s Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Office Park has received the 2026 Façade Innovation Award of Excellence at the Council of Vertical Urbanism (CVU) China Awards.

Designed by Chapman Taylor, the landmark mixed-use development in Jinan was recognised for its innovative approach to façade design and its contribution to the city's evolving urban environment.

The award represents an important achievement for the project, recognising the design team’s ambition to create a distinctive architectural identity that responds to the development’s scale, context and environmental aspirations.

Established in 1969, the Council of Vertical Urbanism (CVU) is a global non-profit organisation focused on advancing the design and development of tall buildings and sustainable urban environments.

The 2026 CVU China Awards recognise projects across China that have made outstanding contributions to advancing tall buildings and urban environments while demonstrating high standards of sustainability, design, and technical innovation.

The Shandong Energy Jinan International Trade Office Park is a major mixed-use development that brings together office, commercial and supporting uses.

The 2026 Façade Innovation Award of Excellence further recognises Chapman Taylor’s expertise in designing complex, large-scale developments that combine architectural quality, technical innovation and sustainable design principles.

Johnny has considerable experience in architectural design in both Germany and China and has led many important, large-scale urban design projects, including both architectural and interior design.

He plays a leading role in some of the Shanghai studio’s most significant urban design projects, and is skilled at combining innovative concepts with the requirements of China's market and the local context. Johnny’s leadership during the construction process, and his strict control of project quality, have been widely praised by clients and partners.

Johnny joined Chapman Taylor’s Shanghai studio as a Director in November 2018.
