Marcelina Zielinska and Rachel Rogerson Promoted to the UK Board at Chapman Taylor

We are pleased to announce that Marcelina Zielinska and Rachel Rogerson have been promoted to the UK Board at Chapman Taylor.

Marcelina Zielinska

Marcelina joined Chapman Taylor’s London studio in 2007 as part of the St David’s Cardiff team, which opened in 2009. Following the successful delivery of this scheme, she has been involved in establishing the vision for many prestigious projects, both in the UK and internationally. Marcelina was promoted to the position of Director in 2017.

Marcelina brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having been instrumental in the design of a wide portfolio of projects ranging from individual buildings to large-scale urban masterplans. As an Architect and Urban Designer, she has a passion for urban regeneration with a keen interest in researching future trends in consumer behaviour, and understanding the profound impact this can have on city centres. Marcelina's current projects include leading the design of heritage-sensitive masterplans for several historic cities in central Asia, where she is working with many government departments to deliver sustainable regeneration. Her area of design expertise includes masterplanning, mixed-use developments, retail, leisure, asset enhancement, and placemaking.

Marcelina takes an active interest in many networking events and, in recognition of her masterplanning skills, has recently been invited to join the prestigious Royal Society of Arts to promote the importance of Urban Design.

Rachel Rogerson

Rachel joined Chapman Taylor’s Manchester studio in 2006 and has been a member of the studio’s management team since 2016. She was promoted to Director in 2021 and together with the management team has helped shape the studio we have in Manchester today.

Rachel has worked on several significant projects including: MediaCityUK Phase 1, Knightsbridge and Deniz Mall in Baku, Kampus, major residential developments for Barratt London and most recently Capella at King’s Cross where she is leading our design team working closely with Laing O’Rourke and Argent. She also leads Chapman Taylor’s Technical Group and plays a key role in our continuous improvement programme with a particular focus on the quality of our technical design and effective management of our design teams. Her design expertise spans various sectors, including residential, leisure, retail, higher education, specialist fit-out, design delivery, and design management.

Rachel is an active member of Women in Property where she regularly participates in, and contributes to, events and study tours with other members of our studios.

Marcelina Zielinska (MSC Arch and Urb Des, RIBA, FRSA)

Director, UK

Marcelina has extensive experience of all design stages on a diverse range of projects of various scales, from individual buildings to large urban masterplans.

She has a particular passion for high street regeneration, with a talent for anticipating future trends in retail and leisure and the impact they will have on town centres. Her current projects include heritage-sensitive masterplans for historic city centres.

As an architect and urban designer, Marcelina understands the importance of placemaking and of combining uses to create socially, commercially and environmentally sustainable communities, both in the UK and internationally.

Marcelina has been with Chapman Taylor since March 2007, when she joined the company to help deliver St. David’s 2 in Cardiff. Marcelina was promoted to the UK Board in 2023.

Rachel Rogerson (BA (Hons), Dip Arch)

Director, UK

Rachel is an accomplished design team leader and has worked on many of Chapman Taylor’s flagship projects in the UK and internationally since joining in 2006.

She leads the in-house UK technical group for the business, providing support and advice on regulatory issues. She has over 20 years of experience, with a particular focus on leading complex technical projects and design management of major projects across multiple sectors. Rachel was promoted to the UK Board in 2023 and splits her time between the London and Manchester studios.
