Manchester Goods Yard & One Arlington Square shortlisted for BCO Regional Awards

Manchester Goods Yard (MGY) and One Arlington Square have both earned nominations at the upcoming Regional British Council for Offices (BCO) awards in the UK. MGY has been shortlisted in the 'Best Commercial Workplace' category in the North of England, North Wales, and Northern Ireland region, while One Arlington Square in Bracknell has been nominated in the ‘Refurbished / Recycled Workplace’ category in the region of South of England and South Wales.

Manchester Goods Yard

As the commercial hub of St. John’s, MGY seamlessly integrates work and leisure in a stylish building. Positioned as the fulcrum of the district, it not only offers a substantial volume of new workspaces but also creates a vibrant mix of social and leisure activities. The ground floor, a lively epicentre, hosts a variety of food and beverage options, catering to both resident workers and St. John’s visitors throughout the day. The large-format office floor plates on the upper floors are designed to be adaptable and flexible, embracing health, well-being, and a connection with nature and external spaces. These features create an environment that promotes creativity and offers a vibrant setting for people to work and collaborate.

One Arlington Square

One Arlington Square involves the extensive renovation of an existing, tired office building located at Arlington Square Business Park, Bracknell. The building consists of four storeys of office space that wrap around a central, previously external courtyard that has been covered with a new glazed rooflight and the space transformed into a vibrant and modern amenity space for the tenants of the building. The design embodies a strong sense of wellness and relaxation through a careful selection of materials and an array of biophilic elements.

The outcome is a bold statement, showcasing a high-quality Grade A office and amenity space that elevates One Arlington Square above its competitors.

The British Council for Offices (BCO), founded in 1990, serves as the leading forum for discussing and debating issues affecting the workplace. BCO Award winners will be announced, on 9th and 16 May 2024 at the respective Award Events.
