London: Chapman Taylor have just been featured as Practice of the Month by RIBA London

Chapman Taylor’s London design studio has just been featured by RIBA London as their Practice of the Month. Below is our interview with RIBA London.

What’s your current headcount?

Our global headcount is 425, of which 100 are based in our London studio which is also our global headquarters.

What makes you different from other practices?

One of our key differences is the fact we an international practice and design projects all over the world from the UK, as well as work in the UK. We also believe it is the combination of our offer which spans multiple sectors and the depth of the expertise, creativity and knowledge embedded in our staff.

What's the most exciting project you’ve got coming up?

We have picked up further exciting design commissions at MediaCityUK in Manchester and we have also just been appointed to redesign Gatwick’s North Terminal Departure Lounge. The new £250m Westgate Oxford project is now on site and the London office is driving some big international projects in Tallinn, Istanbul and Baku.

What’s your dream commission?

To masterplan a new British town, one of the much talked about new generation of Garden Cities.

Finally – What makes London such an exciting place for architects?

London has always been a magnet for creative people worldwide so we benefit from being able to recruit from an international pool of talent and as a result our architects benefit from learning from colleagues from all over the world. Additionally, international clients hold London practices in high regard and consequently many of our architects work on some of the biggest and most exciting international projects that exist anywhere.
