Chapman Taylor Director Michael Swiszczowski and Associate Director Richard Daw are participating in panel discussions at BTRAC in Wembley Park on the 8th and 9th June.

Michael’s panel is on the first day of the two-day conference from 3.55-4.40 pm, titled: "Delivering Quality, Sustainable Living Accommodation - Next Generation Construction & Development Trends". Joining him on the panel are Kevin McHugh, Pre-construction Director, Greystar, Lorna Walker, COO, Modomo, Michael Crane, Head of Innovation, CIMC, Jack Millard, Associate, Twin and Earth, Sophie Gunn, Development Manager, Packaged Living and moderator Keith Davies, Residential Director, Buro Four.

Richard's panel is on day two from 13.20-14.05 pm. He will be discussing “Trends in Residential Design within an Evolving Environment”, alongside Eddie Beer, Associate Director, IN2, James Clarke, Development Principal, Crosstree Real Estate and Simon Latson, Head of Building Consultancy - Living, JLL.

Bisnow's 4th edition of its Build To Rent Annual Conference (BTRAC) on the 8th and 9th of June is themed around strategies focused on People, Planet and Profit. With a future pipeline of over 145,000 new homes, the BTR sector continued to attract the interest of investors from across the globe last year, with investment volumes in the sector reaching a record high of c.£4.3B. According to BNP Paribas Real Estate, regional growth now outpaces London, with c.15,000 homes in both the Birmingham and Manchester pipelines, over 10,000 homes in the Leeds pipeline, and over 4,500 in Sheffield.

Michael joined Chapman Taylor in 2016 to strengthen the practice’s residential expertise. He joined the UK Board in 2022 and continues to take an active role in developing the practice’s residential and hospitality sectors across the UK business.

He has experience working on award-winning residential projects, with a particular focus on Build-to-Rent, student accommodation, hotels, serviced apartments and modular construction.

Michael is a regular speaker at residential and property conferences where he articulates Chapman Taylor’s design approach and skill sets. He is also a RIBA-elected member of the Regional Council for RIBA North West.

Richard Daw (BA(Hons), DipArch, ARB, RIBA)

Associate Director, UK

Richard joined Chapman Taylor in 2021 with a particular focus on helping to grow Chapman Taylor’s residential design capability in Manchester. Richard brings a unique perspective to holistic living and workplace trends thanks to his former experience in managing a flexible workspace start-up.

Richard is highly experienced in several sectors, including residential, workplace, retail and education projects, and is skilled at blending the different uses in mixed-use projects. He is well placed to offer our clients a unique view on the growing Build-to-Rent sector from both an architectural and management perspective.
