Construction progresses at Pernerka Gallery as foundations near completion
Construction of Pernerka Gallery, the landmark mixed-use development set to become the new social and commercial heart of Pardubice and Eastern Bohemia, has reached another significant milestone as foundation works continue to advance.
Following months of intensive engineering works in challenging geological conditions, approximately 20,000 sqm of the project's planned 28,000 sqm foundation base has now been completed. In the most advanced sections of the site, construction has progressed to the second basement level, where the first structural columns, walls and floor slabs are already taking shape.
Seven tower cranes are currently operating across the site as work continues below ground. The development is expected to begin rising above ground level before the end of this year, with construction remaining on schedule for completion and opening in autumn 2028.
Designed by Chapman Taylor for REDSTONE Group, with technical project delivery by OBERMEYER Helika, Pernerka Gallery will create a vibrant mixed-use destination that combines retail, leisure, hospitality and workspace within a single integrated development.
Located adjacent to Pardubice's principal transport hub and within walking distance of the historic city centre, the scheme will transform the former Hobé distillery site into a dynamic new urban quarter, strengthening the city's role as the commercial and cultural centre of Eastern Bohemia.
Upon completion, Pernerka Gallery will comprise approximately 30,000 sqm of retail space, 5,000 sqm of offices, 4,800 sqm dedicated to restaurants and cafés, and 3,900 sqm of entertainment facilities, including a multiplex cinema. The development will also introduce the Czech Republic's first AC Hotel by Marriott, offering 146 guest rooms, alongside conference facilities and approximately 1,100 parking spaces.
The architectural design has been developed to create an active, pedestrian-friendly destination that brings together shopping, dining, leisure, business and hospitality, establishing a new focal point for both residents and visitors while supporting the continued regeneration of Pardubice city centre.
With foundation works approaching completion and the superstructure set to emerge later this year, Pernerka Gallery continues to make strong progress towards becoming one of the Czech Republic's most significant mixed-use developments.
