Construction Progress Update: SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern – Phase 1
Construction is progressing well on the first phase of SEGRO Park Düsseldorf Flingern, a new-generation light industrial development on the former Thyssen site between Königsberger Straße and Höherweg. Site activity began in late 2023, and recent construction photos show significant progress as the scheme moves steadily toward completion in 2025.
Designed by Chapman Taylor for SEGRO, the project sets a new standard for urban industrial parks in Germany. The masterplan combines high-quality, flexible industrial space with a strong focus on sustainability, biodiversity, and community integration.
The development is being delivered in phases, with the current works focused on the northern portion of the site along Höherweg. Once complete, the park will offer adaptable rental units for a wide range of industries, fostering innovation and economic growth within a well-designed, future-ready environment.
Key features of the concept include:
- 🌿 Sustainability and biodiversity – Green building strategies, ecological restoration, and reduced land sealing to enhance the urban ecosystem.
- 🏢 Flexible and future-proof spaces – Designed to meet the needs of local and regional businesses with scalable, high-performance industrial units.
- 🏡 A place for people – Public realm and landscaped areas that support social interaction and community wellbeing.
Chapman Taylor is proud to contribute its urban and industrial design expertise to this transformative project, helping to shape a new model for sustainable industrial development in Düsseldorf and beyond.
