Construction continues to progress steadily at Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 in Shanghai

Construction is continuing to advance steadily at Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 in Shanghai, a workplace-led, mixed-use development designed by Chapman Taylor following a successful competition-winning proposal.

The project marks a significant addition to the city’s thriving high-tech ecosystem, delivering a forward-looking environment for innovation and collaboration.

On-site, major milestones continue to be achieved. Installation of the tower curtain wall units is nearing completion, while the podium façade framing, comprising mullions and transoms, has now been fully installed, with finishing works progressing steadily.

Design concept

Key architectural features are also taking shape, including the air-pillow membrane canopy and skybridge, which have entered the inflation and lighting commissioning phase, signalling the transition towards the final stages of construction.

The development is conceived as an innovative ecological community, designed to support co-governance and collaboration. The masterplan unfolds across eight interconnected spatial experiences: Zhangjiang Eye, Tianmu Street, Pandora Garden, Liuyun Terrace, Variety Atrium, Xingchen Square, Roof Paradise, and Time Passage, creating a layered and engaging environment for occupiers and visitors alike.

Design concept

Architecturally, the scheme is defined by a clear and cohesive design language. Sculpted building forms and textured façades combine to create a contemporary identity, with concave and convex treatments enhancing the perception of volume and seamlessly linking functional elements. Green rooftops, generous daylighting, and landscaped terraces further reinforce the project’s commitment to wellbeing and environmental integration.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, Zhangjiang IC Design Industrial Park Block 2B-6 will deliver a dynamic new workplace destination, supporting innovation, connectivity, and sustainable growth in one of Shanghai’s most important technology districts.
