Construction begins on Freestone Road PBSA scheme in Bristol

Construction has commenced on the Freestone Road Purpose-Built Student Accommodation scheme in Bristol, a 201-bed development designed by Chapman Taylor.

The project recently achieved Gateway 2 approval, confirming that the scheme has secured the necessary regulatory and contractual milestones to progress to delivery. Works began on site in early January, with completion targeted ahead of the 2027/28 academic year.

Designed to provide high-quality student living in a well-connected Bristol location, the scheme reflects Chapman Taylor’s ongoing commitment to creating sustainable, community-focused residential environments that respond to local demand and enhance the wider urban fabric.

The development is being delivered for Moorfield’s MREFV fund in partnership with Tiger Developments Ltd and Watkin Jones Group, with Host appointed as operator. The project highlights the strength of collaboration between investor, developer, operator and design team in delivering best-in-class student accommodation.
