Chapman Taylor unveils interior design for luxury resort in the Seychelles
Chapman Taylor has unveiled its interior design vision for a new luxury resort in the Seychelles, conceived as an immersive hospitality destination celebrating the islands’ natural beauty, cultural heritage and distinctive way of life.
At the heart of the design is the concept of a ‘360° Kaleidoscope of Creole Living’, creating a rich sequence of experiences that reveal different facets of the Seychelles through interiors, landscape, materiality, colour and craftsmanship.
The resort brings together a diverse mix of hospitality and residential experiences, including a five-star hotel, branded villas, a marina-led residential component, wellness facilities, a beach club and an ecological centre immersed within the natural landscape. Each has its own distinctive character while contributing to a cohesive resort experience shaped by the relationship between nature, culture and contemporary luxury.
Our concept takes inspiration from the kaleidoscopic character of the Seychelles, where changing views, tropical colours, textures and cultural influences create a continual sense of discovery.
Seychellois Creole culture and heritage are interpreted through natural materials, locally inspired colours, crafted details and the character of individual spaces. Rather than simply referencing its setting, the design creates a strong sense of place, making the islands' identity an integral part of the guest experience.
Connections between interior and exterior spaces are central to the approach. Carefully framed views establish relationships with the ocean, beach, forest and surrounding tropical landscape, while materials and textures help blur the boundaries between architecture, interiors and nature.
Wellness spaces provide a calmer and more restorative atmosphere, while the beach and marina environments embrace the energy of coastal living. The ecological centre creates another dimension to the experience, immersing visitors in the natural environment and strengthening their connection with the unique landscape of the Seychelles.
The result is a cohesive yet varied interior design language that brings together luxury accommodation, residences, wellness, leisure and ecological experiences within a distinctive destination rooted in its location.
