Chapman Taylor showcases design excellence at CIFTIS 2026 and co-hosts China–International Design Forum
Chapman Taylor was proud to participate in the 2026 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), held from 9–13 September at Shougang Park in Beijing, showcasing the practice’s international design expertise and contributing to discussions around collaboration and innovation within the global design industry.
As one of China’s leading national and international platforms for trade in services, CIFTIS brings together organisations and professionals from around the world to exchange knowledge, develop partnerships and explore new opportunities.
Chapman Taylor was among the invited exhibitors at this year’s event, presenting a selection of our projects and design expertise to industry leaders, partners and visitors. The exhibition provided an opportunity to showcase our international portfolio and demonstrate how global experience, combined with local understanding, can help create successful places across different markets and cultures.
Design renewal, wisdom in collaboration
Alongside its exhibition presence, Chapman Taylor co-hosted the “Design renewal, wisdom in collaboration” : China–International Design Enterprise Sharing Forum, bringing together leading Chinese and international design practices to exchange perspectives on the evolving role of collaboration within the industry.
The forum was convened under the guidance of the Beijing Engineering Exploration & Design Association, organised by its International Cooperation Working Committee and co-organised by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Tsinghua University (THAD) together with Chapman Taylor, ZHA Architects, AREP, HPP Architects, Aedas and HENN.
The event provided a platform for participants to share knowledge and experience, explore new design approaches, and discuss how greater collaboration between Chinese and international practices can support innovation and the delivery of high-quality built environments.
Connecting global expertise with local understanding
During the forum, Johnny Jiang, Director of Chapman Taylor Shanghai, delivered a speech sharing Chapman Taylor’s global design philosophy and drawing on the practice’s experience of delivering projects across China and internationally.
Johnny explored the value of international design collaboration and how exchanging ideas, expertise, and perspectives can stimulate innovation and create lasting value for cities and communities.
Chapman Taylor has a long-established presence in China, combining the knowledge and experience of our local teams with expertise from across our international studios. Participation in CIFTIS 2026 provided another valuable opportunity to strengthen these connections and contribute to the ongoing exchange between China’s design industry and the wider international design community.
