Chapman Taylor exhibiting at Gingerbread City 2021

Members of Chapman Taylor’s Manchester studio have produced a remarkable gingerbread model of an imaginative regeneration project, which has gone on display as part of the wider Gingerbread City masterplan model at 6-7 Motcomb Street, Belgravia, London.

Our team put their baking prowess to the test to create a gingerbread model which combines the latest thinking in sustainable regeneration with delicious tastes and smells.

Gingerbread City is an annual exhibition organised by the Museum of Architecture to showcase sustainable urban design principles to the general public in a fun and relatable way. The theme of this year’s exhibition is "Rewilding".

Rewilding is defined as a ‘progressive approach to conservation'. It involves enabling and working with natural processes to shape the places we live in, and repair damaged or degraded landscapes.

The Chapman Taylor plot ‘Plot M8 – Doughnut Stadium’ was designed as a sustainable architectural proposition, aiming to not only provide a space for Gingerbread City citizens to cheer on their favourite sporting team, but also offer an environment for them to learn about climate change and the impact of intensive farming.

The exhibition runs until 4 December 2021 until 9 January 2022, and we highly recommend a visit!
