Chapman Taylor designs façade concept for Zhengzhou Yutong Financial Building

Chapman Taylor has created a striking office building façade concept for the Yutong Financial Building in Zhengzhou, China.

The classical architecture of the façade provides clean, symmetrical elegance, with a podium level acting as a fully integrated visual pedestal for the building’s tower. The tower is topped by classical columns which surround landscaped roof spaces, offering excellent views over the city.

The podium provides two distinct tiers, the lower providing arches and extensive glazing to welcome visitors into the large lobby-atrium space, while the upper tier is defined by classical columns and a surrounding terrace, with the atrium dome punching through the centre.

The tower façades are set back, their linear stone patterns linked visually separated into four volumes by a recessed core which incorporates curtain wall glazing and aluminium panels. The effect is to seamlessly blend the beauty of classical architecture with a visual statement of the contemporary building’s high modern specification. The structure emphasises the three-dimensionality of the architecture and brings an extra level of transparency to the building.

Yutong's brand identity is integrated throughout, while the building is designed to complement its context and provide a representative landmark for the new district within which it sits.
