BREEAM 'Very Good'

Designed with careful consideration for the architectural traditions in the region

Modelled on the city of A Coruña, the Espacio Coruña is the first Spanish shopping centre to receive a BREEAM certificate for sustainability.

Retail harmoniously integrated into its surroundings

Completed in 2009, the centre is built for the most part underground, emerging like a park with gardens onto a green roof, employing local materials and plant varieties. Also of note are the centre’s glazed greenhouses and meandering paths, exquisitely landscaped throughout with great care.

Maritime features

The city’s renowned glass architecture and unmistakable maritime flavour are perfectly integrated under the canopy of natural daylight, the focal point of this space.

Chapman Taylor created the concept design, in collaboration with T+T Design, and then developed and delivered the building.
