New residential quarter brings contemporary elegance to Baku White City

Chapman Taylor has unveiled a collection of five new residential city blocks that will help shape the next phase of Baku White City, one of Azerbaijan's most ambitious urban regeneration projects. Located within the eastern part of the White City Masterplan, Plots BW01, BW05, BW09, EQA 47 and EQA 48 combine high-quality homes, active streets and carefully designed public spaces to create a vibrant new neighbourhood.

Designed as a series of cohesive urban blocks, the development balances contemporary residential living with the character and permanence of the city's architectural heritage. Spacious apartments occupy the upper floors, arranged around landscaped central courtyards that provide residents with secure private gardens, children's play areas and spaces for relaxation, fostering a strong sense of community within each block.

At street level, the development contributes to an active and welcoming public realm through a mix of retail units, cafés and restaurants. Outdoor terraces and seating areas encourage social interaction and animate the surrounding streets throughout the day, reinforcing the walkable, mixed-use principles that define the White City vision. Two levels of basement parking ensure vehicle access is accommodated discreetly, allowing the focus at ground level to remain firmly on people.

The architectural language reinterprets classical design principles through a contemporary lens, creating buildings that are both timeless and distinctive. Chapman Taylor also designed the interiors for the residential entrances and lobbies across the development, extending the architectural vision into the buildings’ key arrival spaces.
