Chapman Taylor to feature at the ARL Rental Living and Pathways Conference 2025

Chapman Taylor will be participating in the ARL Rental Living and Pathways Conference, taking place on 6th November 2025 at One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London. This significant industry event unites two forums in a single day: the Strategic Rental Living Conference and the NextGen Pathways Conference for early and mid-career professionals.

With 400+ delegates, 30+ sector-leading speakers, and 12 hours of content, the event is set to be a cornerstone of innovation, insight, and networking in the Build-to-Rent (BtR) and Rental Living sectors.

Design Charette breakout session (10:30 – 11:10)

Chapman Taylor event highlights:

  • Dr Catalina Ionita, Senior Architect at Chapman Taylor and Special Design Advisor to the ARL Design Committee, will moderate a panel discussion titled “Placemaking – How to Deliver Value to Business, Community and Homes” from 15:45 to 16:15. This case study-led session will explore the evolving role of BtR and Rental Living in regenerating neighbourhoods and shaping community-centric environments.
  • Catalina will also support the Design Charette breakout session (10:30 – 11:10), following its standout success in 2024. This highly interactive workshop will once again be driven by some of the most innovative and influential voices in rental living design.
  • Chapman Taylor’s London Director, Daniel MorgansManchester Associate Director, Alexander Esfahani; and Bristol Associate Director, Jonathan Jones, will also be in attendance, reinforcing the practice’s leadership in responsible, forward-thinking design for the rental living space.

Daniel Morgans (BA (Hons) DipArch RIBA)

Director, UK

Daniel joined Chapman Taylor in 2017 as an Associate Director and was promoted to Director in 2025.  He is a key member of our UK concept design team. A creative and innovative designer, he specialises in turning a client’s vision into a successful project.

Daniel has over 20 years’ experience as an architect in the UK and overseas, eight of these spent working in the luxury residential and hospitality sectors and on a number of sensitive urban and historical sites.

He also has experience in coordinating teams for large-scale mixed-use projects in the Middle East, Europe and CIS.

Alexander Esfahani (Bsc(Hons), MArch, PGDip ARB)

Associate Director / Head of Sustainability, UK

Alexander joined Chapman Taylor in 2016 and was appointed Associate Director and Head of Sustainability in 2025, taking on a group-wide leadership role focused on advancing responsible and sustainable design across the practice. In this role, he contributes to the development of the company’s sustainability strategy, supports innovation, and helps embed responsible design principles across Chapman Taylor’s global portfolio.

Since joining the practice, Alexander has developed a strong reputation as a committed and accomplished architect, with experience in the design and delivery of a range of residential BtR, Co-living, PBSA, mixed-use and workplace projects. His portfolio includes Knight Dragon’s Plot M0121 at Greenwich Peninsula, Grainger’s BtR development John Street Cardiff, the Waterbeach development in Cambridge for Urban&Civic, and Manchester Goods Yard, a workplace development for Allied London.

As Global Head of Chapman Taylor’s Responsible Design Steering Group, Alexander plays an important role in shaping sustainability initiatives, residential research and development, and best-practice guidance across the business. He regularly represents Chapman Taylor at industry events, conferences and thought-leadership forums.

Jonathan Jones (BEng (Hons) MArch)

Associate Director, UK

Jonathan joined Chapman Taylor in Bristol in 2013 as one of the first Architectural Assistants in the Bristol studio. Since then, he has been involved in various projects and masterplans across the UK and internationally. He is currently overseeing schemes in the South West of England, with a particular focus on residential and mixed-use design. Jonathan was promoted to Associate Director in 2025.

Jonathan is particularly skilled in the concept design and feasibility stages of mixed-use proposals. His freehand drawings and concept designs have been extremely valuable in developing the studio’s capabilities.
