A commercial heart for a major city extension

Sector 88 is the commercial zone of a major extension to the new city of Gurugram, close to New Delhi. The 28-acre site is located beside the Dwarka Expressway, opposite the main Interstate Transport Hub, and is surrounded by major residential developments.

The US$300 million development by Bestech India is designed to deliver a well-considered mix of uses in a sustainable urban development.

A well-considered mix of uses

A central core of shopping and leisure, including a large new shopping centre, fronts new streets and squares, surrounded by a perimeter area of other facilities including multiple office towers, a 5-star hotel and a business hotel, high street retail and residential units including serviced apartments and offices.

Flexible and contemporary design

The planning of the commercial area is based on a flexible layout with contemporary landscaping and signature buildings. It is designed to be a phased development, with the streets and squares providing large gardens, landscape courts and courtyards which connect the development at multiple levels. Also proposed is a large pedestrian plaza, the "village" meeting point of connections throughout the plot.

Chapman Taylor created the masterplan and concept design for this 11.2-hectare development in the rapidly growing city of Gurugram.
