Chapman Taylor to support Mace in the delivery of Bracknell masterplan

We have been given the go ahead to redevelop an existing 1970’s shopping precinct in the heart of Bracknell, Berkshire, UK.

The redevelopment programme by Bracknell Regeneration Partnership is part of the wider vision for regenerating the town centre, it will accommodate 60,000m² of new retail and leisure facilities, create a contemporary shopping experience for the local community and bring with it some big retail names.

The vision for the overall masterplan from BDP is to transform Bracknell town centre into a culturally self-confident centre that is mature, vibrant and truly mixed-use, hosting a wide range of shopping and leisure activities, and is accessible to all. There are two integrated elements to the scheme, the first being Charles Square that has been designed by our London studio, that will include a new anchor store and associated shopping units and public spaces, and the second Northern Retail Quarter which involves delivering six new blocks. These new buildings will incorporate a Fenwick, Marks & Spencer as well as a Cineworld on the first floor and the remodelling of an existing office tower into residential accommodation.

Work has started onsite and the scheme is due to complete early 2017.

The construction contract is with Mace, design and delivery of Charles Square by Chapman Taylor, delivery of Northern Retail Quarter by Chapman Taylor, design of Northern Retail Quarter and overall masterplan by BDP.
