Mirabad Avenue luxury residential development launches in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The Mirabad Avenue residential-led, mixed-use development in Tashkent, Uzbekistan has been officially launched.

Ram Khatiwada, Director at Chapman Taylor’s Moscow studio, spoke at the well-attended ceremony, which took place on 1 December, about Chapman Taylor’s role in designing the landmark project.

The 2.4-hectare Mirabad Avenue project represents a new type of residential-led, mixed-use development in Tashkent. Creating a striking new urban quarter, the development regenerates an entire area of the city.

The development site has a long, prime frontage on Mirabad Street, which links two main routes between the city centre and airport. The concept for this residential development is a group of four blocks, each comprising luxury residential properties, efficiently arranged around private courtyard. Each block is completed with corner feature towers containing penthouses at the top. The development at street level is fully dedicated to retail and F&B.

The scheme incorporates ‘smart’ building – residential buildings will be designed to maximise environmental, technical and economic efficiency. Residents’ comfort is prioritised, with digital technology incorporated to reduce the need for manual operation of services as well as allowing residents to manage their apartments from anywhere in the world.

Discreet quarters with communal courtyard gardens offer residents a sense of private space in a busy urban environment. The varying types of apartment mostly face the internal courtyards, away from the street’s noise, but bustling commercial areas and communal spaces provide a vibrant environment across two floors at podium level – all accessible without having to venture outside.

The architectural style follows that of the surrounding area, with five 12-storey towers acting as punctuation between the main nine-storey buildings, all served by two levels of underground car parking. Roadways, paths and public realm spaces are uncluttered, attractive and safe for residents and visitors alike.

Chapman Taylor created the Concept and Scheme Design for this prominent urban residential scheme on behalf of Golden House, working alongside CDI Building Services Engineers.

Phase 1 of Mirabad Avenue is under construction, with Phase 2 due to start in Q2 2019.
