Mercury Point receives outline planning permission

Mercury Point, Trafford Park, Manchester has just received outline planning permission from the Local Authority.

Mercury Point is a speculative office development for Peel Holdings and part of a wider masterplan for the area, also designed by Chapman Taylor, which creates a new business district with a number of blocks totalling more than 70,000m² gross floor space.

The site is well positioned to benefit from existing and new transport infrastructure including an extension to Manchester’s tram system and the largest privately-owned bus network in the North West. The building is designed to achieve BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating using new technology such as ground-sourced heat pumps and an exposed flat-soffit concrete structure to cool the building in conjunction with high-specification glass external louvers to control solar gain.
