Dream Island wins two awards at 2018 RCSC Awards in Moscow

The Chapman Taylor-masterplanned Dream Island project in central Moscow has won two awards at the annual RCSC Awards, held in Moscow on 25 April. The much-anticipated development was awarded ‘Best Project at Implementation Stage’ in the Super-regional category, as well as winning a Jury Prize for ‘Best Project of International Scale’.

The RCSC Awards is a prestigious Russian retail industry event which honours the best shopping centres and retail-related projects in Russia each year.

A major redevelopment of the Soviet-era Nagatino Park, Dream Island is designed as the first large-scale leisure destination in Russia, expected to be visited by up to fifty million people annually. It is due to open in 2019.

The world’s largest indoor theme park.

In addition to a large indoor amusement park, the river-fronted scheme provides a regional shopping centre, outdoor leisure facilities, a 400-key 4-star hotel, a concert hall, a yacht club, and F&B facilities. Using a concept design based upon the historic Kremlin architecture to be found in many ancient Russian cities, as well as upon Western Europe’s gothic architecture, Dream Island has a ‘wonderland’-style architectural theme.

Chapman Taylor proposed the masterplan and concept design for this project. The development is currently being built with full support from both the government and the public.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this ground-breaking Moscow leisure destination for these well-deserved awards.
